1 tsp honey + 1/8tsp black pepper powder (do NOT add black pepper if you have stomach problems) + 1/8tspn of kalonji powder (make your own powder) – mix well and take several times a day. Honey has many natural nutrients, minerals and vitamins to build immunity, black pepper is a natural anti-inflammatory and kalonji, Nigella sativa, which has a high antioxidant content and is anti-inflammatory. Very good when having sore throats and chesty problems. Take six times a day (divide it equally throughout the day) if you have coronavirus otherwise if going out twice a day and not going out once a day.

drink lots of warm lemon and honey water with or without fresh ginger – we have been drinking warm lemon water in place of cold water and sometimes adding a few drops of honey when warm or mixing lemon juice with hot water and fresh ginger then using that as a tisane to make very warm tea and adding warm water and some honey in place of tea.

For bad coughs use our ffenugreek and licorice teabags  – they are excellent for coughs and those who have high blood pressure just take out the licorice before boiling – one teabag lasts 4 days just add honey when taking 1/2 cup a day divided into 1/4 cups twice a day very warm as it is a bit bitter – it works.

as soon as you feel a sore throat start in the morning with 1 tsp honey cappings and chew for 30 minutes then take 1 tsp honey with black pepper and kalonji and eat and drink nothing 45min. Drink lots of warm lemon and honey water with/without fresh ginger and at lunch time another tsp of honey with black pepper and kalonji and before sleeping chew 1 tsp honey cappings for half an hour then before sleeping another tsp of honey with black pepper and kalonji. Repeat for several days

#rawhoney and coughs and colds and flu and chest problems

Cold and flu season is now upon us as well as the coronavirus which is very worrying right now.

The best thing to build your immunity up is to take 1 teaspoon of honey when you wake up on an empty stomach and dont eat or drink for 45min and this will build up your immunity and after a few months less likely to get colds, flus etc.

Honey cappings and honeycomb taking 1 teaspoon a day chew for half an hour and then spit out this will help build up your chest immunity and after a few months less likely to get chest infections. Plus when sick take 1 teaspoon before sleeping chew for half an hour then spit out then take 1 teaspoon of honey and sleep this will help with the cough and cold and flu and chest infection.

a 2010 study by WHO and other researchers on children and adults with respiratory problems especially bad coughs found that a teaspoon of honey before sleeping had a greater symptom relief from coughing and better sleep than cough medicine and a study in 2012 also had the same result.

Raw honey has been used for hundreds of years for cold, flu, bronchial and pneumonial problems.

A U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisory committee recommended that children under the age of 6 should not take any cough or cold medicines because they have not been shown to effective and can have serious side effects and to take honey.

Public Health England recommend patients take honey and hot drinks for sore throats.

Raw honey and cholesterol

A study in 2010 by the School of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences, San Diego State University, San Diego, CA, compared the consumption of honey v sucrose over a period of 116 days which showed that, raw unprocessed honey lowered the total cholesterol level in the blood.

Yep honey is good for in many different levels. We have 16 varities why not try them all or one at a time and lower your cholesterol level too or prevent one from building up. 1 or 2 teaspoons a day on an empty stomach first thing in the morning does wonders and dont eat or drink anything for 45min minimum.

A Study in 2009, which was published in the journal of medicinal food, gave 60 volunteers for 14 days honey and after when they tested them it showed that the honey had brought down their bad cholesterol.

Honey Cappings

Honey cappings look like porridge and is the seal of the honeycomb. They contain wax and when chewed it is like eating chewing gum.

Honey Cappings speed healing and are antibiotic and antimicrobial they contain minerals, propolis, vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, niacin, iron, riboflavin, copper, pantothenic acid, calcium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium, pollen and zinc.

Sister Evelyn who had very bad mouth ulcers and nothing was working starting chewing one teaspoon for half an hour twice a day and her ulcers within days went and have stayed away she even found that the ulcers in her throat healed too within a week.

Honey cappings should be chewed for half and hour then the wax should NOT be swallowed but spat out. The half an hour of chewing releases all the nutrients inside the wax. Because of the small amounts of pollen it helps to build up your immunity to hay fever slowly by taking small amounts every day ie one teaspoon twice a day.

Honey cappings contain propolis which is good for treating oral infections, allergies, warts, and different types of infections. The pollen in the cappings helps support cardiovascualar system as well as good for treating allergies and asthma.

With all the good things contained in honey cappings this is the best treatment for chest infections such as pneumonia (my mum had pneumonia last winter and this and raw honey were the only thing that worked for her when the antibiotics did not work), bronchitis, etc and asthma, also good for the liver.

Good for oral hygiene too and helps to remove bad breath again chew it for half an hour even after the taste of honey has gone.

Honey cappings are raw raw raw not processed nor heated and often bits of bees can be found in them that is how raw they are – when you find one just chuck it out – DO NOT EAT THEM.

sniffle season is upon us

Almost everyone am meeting is currently sneezing, coughing, both and/or sore throats. Had a really bad sore throat a few weeks ago – someone in the car did not say they had a sore throat and starting to sneeze so in a confined space got all the bugs and ended up with a sore throat, runny nose and fever a few days later. Should have started with honey and lemon immediately but did not think.

Squeezed three lemons into a mug added very warm water and two teaspoons of lavender honey and drank before going to bed. When i woke up in the middle of the night took a teaspoon of raspberry honey. In the morning took a teaspoon of thyme honey and ate nothing for 45 minutes nor drank anything. My throat felt so much better but was still niggling. So throughout the day took another two warm mugs of lemon and lavender honey and apple honey in second mug. Then before sleeping again took the lemon concoction cant remember which honey and everytime i woke took a teaspoon of honey. My sore throat was gone by end of the second day and no more runny nose.

Another person took turmeric and honey and swears by it for her sore throat have not tried this yet though did work for her.

300 honey varieties to date

Who would have though there are over 300 honey varieties which have been identified so far all with their own unique flavours, colours and nutrient profiles depending on the specific nectar collected by honeybees.

We only have 16 !

Because of this researching honey is a real challenge as the beneficial chemicals from plants in each honey variety is slightly different. For example raw honey contains flavonoids and phenolic acids which enhance immunity via anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. All raw honey is antibacterial and has its own antibiotic as well as having over 200 other substances including nutrients, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and amino acids.
