300 honey varieties to date

Who would have though there are over 300 honey varieties which have been identified so far all with their own unique flavours, colours and nutrient profiles depending on the specific nectar collected by honeybees.

Because of this researching honey is a real challenge as the beneficial chemicals from plants in each honey variety is slightly different. For example raw honey contains flavonoids and phenolic acids which enhance immunity via anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. All raw honey is antibacterial and has its own antibiotic as well as having over 200 other substances including nutrients, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and amino acids.
